#0202 Sepik River Mask from Papua New Guinea, circa 1970s

A Papua New Guinea mask, constructed on the carapace of a tortoise, decorated with cowrie shells, boars tusks and bird of paradise feathers.

This item was made in the Sepik River region,probably during the 1970s.

Condition - very good - no losses.

9 inches (23cm) High x 7 inches (18cm) wide - excluding feathers.
