A porcelain coffee 'can' / cup painted with a river lanscape in Chinese Imari' style in underglaze blue and overglaze iron red and very unusually made in the form of a small European ale tankard.
This very scarce item was made in China for export in the early 18th century, during the reign of either the Kangxi (1662-1722) or Yongzheng (1723-1735) emperors.
Condition: excellent there is production "fritting" (glaze loss) to the base ridges but no chips, cracks or restoration.
6.8cm (2.8 inches) high; 5.6cm (2.25 inches) diameter.
