#1729 Painted Lacquer Panel from Japan

 A small lacquered wooden panel decorated, in Victorian Aesthetic Movement taste, with well painted flowering Blue Iris. This item was made in Japan, for export, during the last quarter of the 19th Century.

Condition: there are chips to the lacquer (mostly at the edges of the panel) and losses to the paint.

21 cm high; 13.5 cm wide.
