An unusual, attractively painted, Kutani porcelain tripod vase complete with it's original cover surmounted with an iron red Shishi. This item was made in Japan, for export, during the meiji period (1868-1911).
There is a procuction firing crack to base and there are two hairlines visible inside the cover: the tip of the tail on Shishi finialhas been reglued
