A very rare original pair of clear plastic cased "Plum' coloured ankle boots with clear moulded plastic heels, each with an impressed Mary Quant 'Daisy' motif capable of creating a trail of daisy footprints in wet sand.
This design was introduced in 1967 and is typical of the innovative use of new materials in the cutting edge British fashions of the 1960s.
For a similar pair in this style and colour please view the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) and also a pair in the collection of the Museum of London.
We bought these boots in 1976 as part of a large clearance of 1960s clothing from an S&U Stores depot in Wednesbury (outside Birmingham). We will be listing one or two more pairs of these Quant Afoot boots in different styles and colours within the next few months.
